Wonderful!!! - Cars Reviews

Cars is a great family movie for everyone and it has many lessons. It mostly reflects on the power of a good friend and how fame can get you far, but its nothing if you're not sharing it with a friend. Cars is a funny, witty, and smart movie that will touch all of your hearts. A sure winner.

Pure americana - Cars Reviews

I believe that Pixar made this movie just for me. I love Nascar. I love stories about spot in the road towns and Route 66 (to include diners). I have an interest in classic autos. So my review probably won't do you any good if some of these topics don't interest you. The part that put me over the top was 'Cadillac Ranch' in the scenery. If you have ever been in or around Amarillo, TX, then you know the story. My favorite character is Doc Hudson. My father still to this day talks fondly about his 52 Hudson with the inline six, and twin-H power. This picture will renew his stories and my desire to drive one of these rare vehicles. Hope to have the surround sound installed before this one comes out on DVD. Will probably buy the soundtrack as well. Great music.

Cars, "kicks on 66" - Cars Reviews

My wife and I saw the movie last night at 9:30 pm. There were several young children 12 years or younger that were in the audience past their bedtime. My wife and I enjoyed the movie. We plan to take our 8 year old grandaughter to see it in a few weeks , when she comes to visit. I would like to preface this review with the following information: My wife and I are 1950's classic car owners and Route 66 fans and belong to several Route 66 organizations. We have even adopted a 100 mile stretch of the old road in California to watch over. We attend various yearly Route 66 functions. Our opinions are somewhat biased. We are happy to see anything on the screen that features the old "Mother Road" Enough of that said. we thought the story was average, the animation, sound etc, was excellent, which was up to Pixar's usual and expected standards. My wife and I feel that the movie started off a little slow, with the racing scenes at the beginning lasting a little too long. The characters/cast members were very entertaining. Paul Newman, Cheech Marin, and especially Michael Wallis as the Sheriff were very strong characters, but if Larry the Cable Guy as Mater, wasn't in this flick, we would all go to sleep regardless of what time of day this movie was shown. The closing clips were very entertaining, and if more of the same were in the context of the movie, we would have enjoyed it, even more. We will see it again with the grandaughter, but it will be much earlier in the day. When the movie was over at 11pm plus last night, there were lots of kids being carried out well into their sleep, and many seem to have been in that condition for a few hours

Cars - Cars Reviews

All I can say is leave it to Disney to ruin Pixar. I'm not saying "Cars" was bad. Oh no, not at all. It was clever, and as always the visuals were really fantastic. It's a nice change from all the animated nonsense that's been coming out this year, with the exceptions of Hoodwinked, Over The Hedge, and Ice Age 2. But it's not as great as other Pixar films. Seriously, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc, Toy Story, A Bug's Life, all better than this movie. I think most Pixar fans will enjoy it, but not neraly as much as the other movies. It's good, but will probably not blow you away, as Finding Nemo did. "Cars" will probably win an award, but considering the other animated movies this year, Hoodwinked might win. So, in case I was sending mixed feelings about this movie, I will sum up my review. It was entertaining and I liked it a lot, the visuals were simply amazing. All of the characters are charmingly animated and easy to warm up to and relate to. But all of Pixar's other movies, in my opinion, were better. The storyline was a bit thin. I enjoyed it, most people probably will, but it's not as fun and amazing as, say Finding Nemo or Monsters Inc. In all of Pixar's other movies, there were humans, but not in "Cars". Even the flies that can be seen are small cars with wings. If you do go to see it, stay after the credits to see something you might find entertaining. Also, watch for the birds from "For The Birds" a Pixar short film, released with Monsters Inc. Another highlight is the short film in the beginning. Watch for a trailer of Pixar's next movie, Ratatouille.

Pixar's worst! - Cars Reviews

Are the people that are reviewing this movie as an A+ aware that Pixar also made Toy Story and Finding Nemo?! Is this movie really on par with those films?! Uhhmm.....no is the answer you are looking for! I liked some of the visuals in this film, but that was all. The story was slow and boring and certainly nothing inspirational. I guess, perhaps, this is a good movie for kids, but often times these Disney/Pixar movies have a lot of jokes and things for adults. Didn't see it in this film, however. Maybe they needed Eddie Murphy to play one of the cars! This is just a side note, more or less, but I get a little tired of seeing the old stereotypes traught out for each "group" of people we have living in the US. Anyone else? The buck tooth tow truck representing all the hicks in the Southwest, the lowrider representing all the chicanos in the Southwest (side note to the side note - is there any latino more annoying than Cheech? don't think so!), and the fat black lady as the big car, etc. etc. - I guess this is how the people at Disney see all of us - a bunch of stereotypes. Perhaps this was funny 20 or 30 years ago - but quite frankly I'm a bit sick of it. If you are going to do a film of stereotypes, atleast have more than 1 representative for each "minority" group. There are several "white cars" showing the complexity of the white culture, but 1 latino car, 1 black car, 1 Italian car. A fair representation? Aw, but it is Disney, so it must be okay, right? Wrong! In conclusion, this is the worst Pixar movie I have seen. I was completely disappointed.
