Cars: Slow lane dullsville... - Cars Reviews

Lightning McQueen, a hotshot rookie race car driven to succeed, discovers that life is about the journey, not the finish line, when he finds himself unexpectedly detoured in the sleepy Route 66 town of Radiator Springs. On route across the country to the big Piston Cup Championship in California to compete against two seasoned pros, McQueen gets to know the town's offbeat characters--including Sally, a snazzy 2002 Porsche, Doc Hudson, a 1951 Hudson Hornet with a mysterious past, and Mater, a rusty but trusty tow truck, who help him realize that there are more important things than trophies, fame and sponsorship.

Slow lane dullsville... - Cars Reviews

Owen Wilson is not a funny person. Just coz he's done some comedy doesn't mean he can bring out the funnies. The story itself is unengaging. The script lacks the clever punch and witty dialog that the Incredibles had plus the characters themselves are poorly crafted. Though there are funny moments, it is far and few in between. Sometimes the story suffers from too much growing up talk to the point where it bores you senseless. This is by far the worst Pixar production. Disney would probably think it bought a dud by now but heck. As long as Pixar can levarage on the other successful franchises, then there is still hope. One thing about the movie is the superb visuals. The flow of the movement and the animation is first rate. How the camera pans from one scene to the next is a good indication of good visual direction. The graphics are beautifully rendered but sadly this alone isn't going to save this film.
